How to determine helmet size?

Looking at buying a Cosmonaut high altitude flight helmet but I have no idea what the sizes mean. I would rather have one that's too big than one that does not fit at all.

Anyone have any idea??

I would rather suspect that something like that would be custom-fit for the intended wearer. Not just 'off-the-rack' sizes like for clothing.

At least........ that's the way it was back when I was an astronaut in the 60's and 70's.

With motorcycle helmets the only way to be sure is to try them on. Heads are not shaped the same, some are more oval some are more round, and one style doesn't necessary fit all. I normally wear an Arai helmet and if I try to wear, for example, a Shoei, helmet in the same size it is too tight for me.

Talked with a German pilot and he said that they had a cast made of their head for the helmets. No idea if these were made the same way but most likely

You could try this: Making a Head Mold
Send them the finished product to see if it fits.
