How to get rid of red eye

IMG_0477.jpg

Do you have Photoshop? I know CS2 and newer has a red eye reduction tool. I'm not sure how far back in the product line that feature goes. I'm sure other software has similar features but I only know Adobe. Hopefully others will chime in.

Just about any newer photo software (even the cheap ones that come with the cameras) have some sort of red-eye removal tool.

Of course, it's best to avoid it in the first place...but not using a flash that is so close to the camera's lens.

Was this taken using a point and shoot with the AF assist beam active?

I have a tiny little Canon PowershotSD that I keep with me at all times even when I have the 350D.
Have gotten some good candids that wouldn't have been possible without it.
But it seems that red eye plagues these kind of cameras.
The flash on these things seem to make the images look worse.

Yup...seems to be a bit of a prob with the little Canons. I see from the EXIF data that your red-eye reduction mode was switched on. I wonder how it would have turned out WITHOUT it??? :stun:

Anyway...being careful to try not to over-do the touch-up, here´s my attempt:
