Hi ,

Today I have decided to learn about distance calculation , and suddenly I realize I have one distance meter on my nikon 85mm 1.8 lens

All I want to know How to use it or what is the purpose of those figures ,

Inside the sqaure window is your distance, on the verticle line in the middle. You have measurements both in feet and meters. Just look at the center line, and the measurement above it is your subject focus distance.

The numbers on the OUTSIDE of the window are your depth of field numbers. You should probably have and 11 and 16 on each side of the "line" mentioned above.
If your aperture is set to f16, everything from a distance above the left "16" and right "16" should be in focus.

thanks for explaining , i am going to try it
