How to use lenses? 35mm Pentax

My daughter will be along shortly or I will add the details later myself. She is 19 and wanting to learn photography rather than just "pitcher takin".

I got her a Pentax with a standard lens, a telephoto (zoom) and a wide angle. It all came with manuals to each item as well. She will need to learn what all of the adjustments do aside from just focus.

I will add the details as I get them.

While you're at it pick her up a copy of "Understanding Shutter Speed" same author. Then get her a copy of John Hedgecoe's "Photography Basics" and also a copy of "The Pentax Way" if that camera is an old Pentax SLR. That should help her with her first steps fairly well.
