How to view Sony HX5V Video's on iPad

Hi, Unlike most on this site, I basically just take pics and videos of family and travel, just basic snapshots, but hope that someone on this site can advise me.

Anyway, I just got a Sony HD5V and took some video's but can't figure out how to view them on my iPad. At the advice of someone at the store, I got a Class 10 / 32G SD card and just pop it into the iPad and the pictures are coming up fine but the videos don't open. I was wondering if I need to change the settings on the camera or is there something I need to download to the iPad to be able to see my videos?
