I'll head over there tomorrow, but since I know little about it- is this a good deal?

You get two lenses with the T1i, which is very good for a beginner if you don't want to drop serious cash on some glass. I'd definitely go for it over the XS.

Seems like a good deal to me.

I paid $1275 for my 60D Twin Lens kit here in AUS, though it is worth a lot more then that!
