Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I finally took a couple pictures I like,
and the sky is way overexposed.
I didn't bother trying to fix in via PP because I'm pretty sure there's nothing I can do.

I wish I had money, =/
so I could buy myself some filters. Boo hoo.

Anyways, I actually like the first 2 of these pictures, C&C on them please?
Also, any tips on what kind of post processing I should do on these? I just tweaked the brightness/contrast for now.
But I'm never sure what PP a picture needs to make it look better.

You can pick up some ND and grad-ND filters without breaking the bank. They may not be the very best, but your images will look a lot better than being overexposed.

I've searched everywhere, some cheap ones yeah,
but my price range right now is no more than $30, including shipping =/

I took the liberty of cropping the railroad spikes. A little cloning and tinting the sky slightly. A couple of minutes work.

mmm I like it,
I definitely need work on my PP'ing,(lol).

I updated the image through flicker and added more contrast.

Try Amazon. Free shipping on most items, and a great selection.

Best thing is to re-frame in camera to exclude the sky. I like the car seat, but there must have been a better view that excluded both the sky and that dead grass going across the frame in front of it. Excluding the sky might have given you a better shot than you could have gotten with the filters because the sky just doesn't have any interesting detail here.

You can add a sky with little effort. But your best bet is to use a tripod and shoot an additional underexposure for the sky and put it together as an HDR.

From the title of this thread, I thought it was either about pirates or mouthwash.

Hop over to best buy. They have cheap filters. You don't necessarily have to have the most expensive to start with. That, and it protects your glass as well.

Just get a couple cheap Cokin ND grads... it'd be about $15 I'm guessing. I have the filter holder but have never used it and wouldn't recommend buying it. I just hold the filter up to the lens and shoot. :)

Yup, I got my first cheap Circular Poloarizer from Best buy for less than 20 bucks. I haven't had any complaints or issues with it.

Didn't you mention having 6 years of Photoshop experience? Make 2 exposures: 1 for your subject, one for the sky, then merge the 2.

believe it or not but i actually paid $30 for ND-3 and its by Hoya. it was used and i picked it up from a local seller.
