Didn't know hummingbirds built nests in pine trees. Thirty feet up! Lichen was used to waterproof her mud nest. Worked well as a heavy rain just ended.

I can’t see it… but, I have humming birds and pine trees, so it is definitely of interest.

Might want to edit and reload the image. Not showing up

Wonderful work! These nests are tiny and hard to spot. Nicely done!

I saw her hanging out near my balcony often, but there is no feeder. I eventually saw her buzz over to that nest. Doubt I would have ever spotted it otherwise. I should put out a feeder for her. It will be interesting to see if babies appear in coming weeks.

Two babies! This is a poor evening shot using an external flash from a long distance. Hopefully, I'll get a pic of them in morning sunlight before they fly away. If not, this is as good as it gets.

Got some poor shots backlight in the evening sun, but shows two chicks heads bobbing up. Hopefully, I'll get some morning front lit shots, if they survive tonight's severe storm with 50mph winds. I have seen one chick buzzing its wings in the nest for excercise.

They'll be fine, mum will probably sit on them but that nest isn't going anywhere and it's on a good solid branch.

Check in on them tomorrow after the storm🤘.

Exciting day! One of the babies (bottom two photos) left the nest today. It flies slower and with less certainty than mom. He is fluffy and beak is still short. He leaves and comes back within 20 feet of the nest often. Maybe looking for a handout from mom? Mom is frantically feeding the second baby often (top left), and baby is buzzing its wings (top right). Will be interesting to see how long they stick around. I hope I get a shot of mom feeding babies outside the nest.
