HUNTING THE SNOW (Warning Graphic Images)

Aye Mates,
Had a grand day afield with me gun dogs TRAD and MAC whilst hunting pheasants on the snow this morning. The New England air was quite crisp and the sky was clear blue. The reflection of strong sunlight off of the snow made for a bit of strain on the eyes but the exercise walking up birds was surely enjoyed by meself, me gunning Mates, and me retrievers.

At days end we had bagged six pheasants and retreated back to our clubhouse to clean birds and share some Irish cordials to cap the festivities.

Last year I was driving through a park here in Central New Jersey when a couple of pheasants ran across the road. Beautiful birds. Wonder if they made it up to Vermont?

Those two dogs live for the hunting of birds and are most happy whence doing so.. The lads had a grand day yesterday.
