I almost went blind taking this (C&C)

You should have exposed for the bright sky and get silhouette of the statue

That's what I was thinking of doing. It looked a lot like that at first, and I could probably edit it and pull it off. I think I wanted the statue to be exposed, but made the mistake of taking one photo, not an HDR.

Yeah, I also have another "I almost went blind taking this" shot on my Flickr, but haven't gotten around to throwing it on here. Maybe I should do a whole series of photos looking straight at the lens

The image is better in the second one; if it is more silhouette(d) with more darkening of the statue and trimming a bit from the right end would make it more appealing, i feel

So I have some free time today, and decided to make it more of a silhouette, but still keeping some detail in the statue. Here it is:
