I am a stranger in this strange land

I try to find a quote that resonates with how I felt when I take a specific picture.
Knowing that sometimes other people think exactly as I do makes the experience a little more enduring.

I am walking along this road, perhaps half a kilometer from the river bank where I landed, a Westerner in a silly hat who speaks not a single word of her language. We pass each other without a sign of recognition and she goes on to a life that I cannot really conceive of, while I walk a little further, see the road winding off into the distance and eventually turn back to meet the boat, not seeing another person.
