What's new

I challenge you to get up, and take 10 pictures of things in your room...

Fun! I'll repost a few from what I call my dungeon....otherwise known as my office. It's pretty much were I live for 60-70 hours a week. You will also see in the below photos, that I have lots of things that I hope keeps my attention.....or helps me keep from getting burned out....or helps me from killing innocent bystanders:

I have this weird hobby of collecting Universal Monsters. That right there is weird.

When my computer is doing stuff that I need to babysit, I take down the monsters and play with them.

After a bad day on TPF, this is how I feel

And I spin my little globe and wish I was somewhere else sometimes. Looks like I'm going to Africa.

More fodder for downtime.....ahhhh the old days of glory!

Haha, in the last shot, you might notice that I keep on hand, one of those candy necklaces. I have it on a little hook by my desk. Sometimes I just want to go back to my childhood. I need to get one of those big crazy straws with the mashed up sweet tarts in them (otherwise known as photographer crack).

Too cool Bennielou! Doesn't it stink being indoors? It's rainy here but at least it's making my computer work go a little easier. I still need my photo for today. I have no idea or inspiration at the moment. I need a challenge myself!

I like how you took the initiative and found a way to be creative!!
You might really like to try a challenge that is called Fight Club.
TPF Fight Club
Look it up it's a lot of fun. I used to play all the time and it really helped me learn to see everyday things in a creative way!!

I've been thinking about doing the challenge they offer on the forum...the one hour thingy, but I've never been brave enough to try.

Aw, you should play, it's a lot of fun. The first time or two you do it you'll be surprised how little time an hour is, but it really pushes your creativity. Even when your contributions suck, it's fun to see what other people came up with for the same categories. :)

Yes, I HATE being indoors, especially when I have a window right by my desk and see how beautiful it is outside. I start daydreaming and next thing ya know I'm hitting the candy necklace to get back on track. LOL.

OK, here I go. My bedroom, that has a small area servings as an "office." All were shot in RAW, auto white balance. One was straightened, but no other processing. All were resized during conversion to jpg.

@Jwellman,

I'll definitely get up and do that a bit later =p
Just got off work, so I'm relaxing now.

Loving everyone's results though!

I think that cat shot is very cool, Snowbear!

Alright, I am at work and a meeting got delayed so I decided to join the fun. I only took 5 though, because I'm at work, and have work things to do. Like wait around for a postponed meeting.

Anyhow, the photos. Not my best work ever, but it was still a good exercise (pretty much any time you take the camera out is a good exercise, in my opinion).

1. Lunch transportation device.

2. Mini helmet. If I'd been putting more time in to this, I would have done something about the fluorescent lighting overhead. They didn't really contribute to the exposure, but they made for a nice ugly reflection on the helmet. Next time I'd use those to my advantage and/or turn them off or block them.

3. The gratuitous lens shot. The flash was about 4" away on TTL.

4. Mouse. This one gave me fits because I couldn't get light reflections to behave the way I wanted - one of the limitations of being at work. I did like the way the reflections of the stuff around the office showed up on the mouse though.

5. Duster.

Ok, I tried to do a full set of 10, but work kept getting in the way.

Here's one I was able to take before I head out to the A's/Red Sox game:
