This is one bird that frightens off all the smaller ones - in the spring the blackbirds and doves try to see it off.

Foraging under the feeders - seems to have lost contrast on uploading

It certainly looks as if it has "attitude". As I focussed it was standing tall looking up hopefully at the feeders, but leant forward too quick for my shutter finger - hence focus level with it's underbelly.
If you haven't guessed - a magpie and I am pleased to say "the second for joy" arrived later.

How come the colors look faded?

I think it is the .jpeg compression that I have set too low prior to uploading at the posting size for the forum into photobucket. I may try more sharpening for web use in future.
