I don't know what kind of Flashgun/stobe to get..

Hi,

I'm interested in getting a flash gun/stobe (preferably flashgun) that i can set up on a tripod and with a wireless trigger to take portraits, and play around with mostly outside.
I have a Pentax k-x. My budget would be around 250 for the gun and then another 100 for equipment perhaps? Is this realistic...?
Also feel free to show your setup/photos and how you did this.
