It's coming up to the end of September and what do I see in the shops? Christmas decorations. Why so early? What is wrong with waiting until the middle of November? That would still be a tad too early if you ask me. I'm not a Christmas grump. I like Christmas. But it isn't Christmas and I don't want shops pretending that it is.

I will be writing to Santa about this.

Don't feel too bad. Out here, they ususally wait until Halloween is over to put up the Christmas stuff. By the time Christmas actually rolls around, I'm near homicidal from hearing Jingle Bells for nearly 3 months. LOVE Christmas but hate the commercialism of it. Bah Humbug! ;)

Wait until Halloween is over? Have you BEEN to the stores lately???? At Walgreens we've had stuff out for a few weeks now :(. Yeah, it really sucks. I wanna be able do enjoy Halloween dammit!

Think yourself lucky mate. It could be worse.

I used to work for Harvester Restaurants and come the end of September all our piped music would change to the Xmas stuff. Try listening to Rudolf the effing red nose reindeer for three months

I still hate bloody Xmas :( .........

Oh man, last week I went to get GROCERIES and im in the frozen foods aisle, and theres fricken candy for halloween already. Im with goddess, Love the holiday, Hate the commercial side of it. Going to any shop that plays christmas carols seriously makes me want to hurt myself.

Yeah, our music turns to Christmas music right after Thanskgiving. I deal with it for one month...couldn't IMAGINE dealing with it for three!!!!

Yip, went to Target a couple days ago and there's an aisle of Christmas crap right next to all the Halloween crap. Ticks me off royal. It's Halloween, Thanksgiving, then Christmas! Quit mixing them up! Finish one first, damn it! :x I refuse to do anything Christmas, including shop, until after Thanksgiving.

unfortunately we don't have here the haloween :(
On the one hand that's good - we don't want to cpy everything from all over the world. but on the other hand - almost every Polish celebrity is sad and depressing, memorizes something bad in the past. Nothing to have fun, nothing to sing and play.

But going back to the topic - here shopkeepers put Christmas decorations at the beginning of december. Sometimes a week earlier. But what is funny - my neighbour still has christams lamps in front of his house :)

You poor guy. Pan Pipes is bad enough, but Pan Pipes doing Christmas songs. :( I get blasted with that at Christmas to. But it's my mum playing it from the kitchen for me and it normally only lasts a couple of weeks.

here in aus... We have fathers day in september... This year - the day after fathers day - I was putting new stock up in confectionery - when i walked past an empty aisle - with a trolley load of boxes of christmas stuff - i just laughed...

(A week before hand - i told mum that christmas stuff would go up within a week after fathers day! I didnt expect it the very next day!)

It is sad that Christmas merchandise gets put out earlier and earlier each year. But this is the reason that you won't find me in the mall much after Oct 1. If I have to go, I'll be there late at night or right when they open and after Thanksgviing - NO WAY!

I thought I'd bump this rather than making a new thread...

Already they're coming out! And all the pubs and restaurants are advertising their Christmas menus. :grumpy:

Ahh, just ignore me. I feel like breathing fire today. :irked:

i havent seen anything christmassy here. But we got the same prob, 2 holidays right after eachother. First we got "Sinterklaas", something quite similar to Santa Claus. But Sinterklaas comes with a boat instead of a flying sled and he has black men, instead of elves. But he hands out gifts on December 5th (thats his birthday) and makes little children cry (same as santa :) ) and he is an old fart. But, the decorations and stuff are all in the store, i think it will start somewhere in October. And right after Sinterklaas leaves town, you will hear christmas songs everywhere.......its just nasty. But more nasty is the fact that my mom really enjoys christmas music, so once i get home im being tortured by more music. Well, ok, some of the songs are nice, but im really happy once christmas is over.
