I call these gator flies. They are often found near alligators , or , landing on alligators.
Some call them flame skimmers. They are half the size or less of a average sized dragon fly.
I was very surprised when this happened on me.

Just in case you were wondering. If someone else bumps them up, im ok with that, I don't want to take anyone's opportunity at the top by doing it myself. In some cases is pretty clear that some folks do that. Please do realize that I do see the comments and appreciate them.
Yes Kirk,,,,I am in the South. But not Florida. I would like to do a shoot in Florida sometime though after all of this virus stuff either kills me, or ends.
Today I have decided to buy the Olympus E-M1X 4/3.
