We have places where the chipmonks sit under the Jay’s roosting spot, looking for falling tidbits.

I’ve alo seen a jay watching a squirrel burry peanuts in the shell, then go dig it up right after the squirrel leaves. The other mornng my wife saw a squirrel with a d irty peanut in it’s mouth, that it must have dug up, after burying it earlier, so the Jays don’t get them all.

Peanuts in the shell are a big hit with Jays. Some years we have so many I’d love to send you a few.
