I need to add a caption with shadows to a photo

SOLVED! Nevermind everybody... lol
I'm using lightroom and I'm about to pull out my hair because I'm trying to figure out how to add a caption with a little shadow underneath it to a photo and every help page only talks about adding text in a slideshow in lightroom.

I tried GIMP but that thing is not very user friendly to me and I can't figure out how to add shadows. I want the text to blend naturally with the picture but I don't know if that's possible. I don't want just a solid red lettering on it. I want the letters to kind of match the gradient of the photo.

Am I asking the impossible? I'm about to lose my mind here and I have this photo needing to be finished by tonight for my family. If anyone wants to see the photo I can upload it to give you a better look at it.
