I own a canon 550d - what's next? A full frame camera or studio equipment?

I own a Canon 550d. Over the years I believe my photography skills have improved to a point where an upgrade is needed. I mostly do portrait photography (environment portrait as well). Since my budget doesn't allow me to buy both, I am here to ask you guys to help your fellow tpf member.

Should I buy a Canon 5D Mark III with EF 24-105mm f/2.8 lens or should I buy studio equipment and continue shooting with me Canon 550d? If I were to buy studio equipment, how much watt second would be appropriate for on location (outdoor) photography?
