Twice today I've been mistaken for a German.
First time was when I asked if a seat was free and the guy laughed and said " Ja natürlich. Schon wieder ein Deutscher" (Yes of course. Another German already!)
The second time was when I was ordering something in a Café and the waitress said "Von wo aus in Deutschland kommen Sie" - very very Swiss dialect (Whereabouts in Germany do you come from). I just smiled and said England.
Of course somebody from Germany would spot me as English straight away but the Swiss simply hear me speaking high german with a funny accent. A lot of the time they think I'm from Holland for some reason.
Feeling little proud of myself at the moment
