thanks for all the reply's and help. can i ask how you all edited them. they all look better than mine how did you get the face brighter? i have light room 4 and Photoshop Elements 10. but but don't know to much about edited them as this is all new to me

For me, I pretty much took EDL's edit, set the white point (the droppers in curves or levels) to the flowers and masked out everything else. I then drew the composite curve (the "main" curve, could easily be done in levels by adjusting the midtones tab) down a bit to make it slightly darker and applied the original on saturation mode (layer modes) to address some of the more garish colors that resulted from increased contrast.
