What's new

I worship this man.

I could do it, been closer than that on a few occations, my only regret is I did not have my camera with me....or was I thankful I did not have my camera with me on those occations, I don't remember.

Part that really sucks is true rally racing never really cough on in the states, otherwise I would be all over it and finding my self positions just like that. He obviously has been to a race or two, that location is no fluke, He prolly looked and looked for a position where there was something on the racing surface that would throw some lesser experienced drivers and then sat where he had perfect angle on the race with an easy to access sufficient hiding hole. He had to have known cars would bounce off that wall far enough to stay out of the impact.

I'd be willing to bet he's been hit a time or two as well.

I cannot recall the whole info, but there is a complete youtube of this video on there. The guy eventually takes a few more shots before going to help the guy out of the car... which rolled over and ended up in a field or something.

Not really brave... more like a few fries short of a happy meal... lol

Thats a great video, I had something similar but not as close, this car missed me by about 1 foot this was the last shot as i was running

All in a day's work.

I think that's one of the golden rules that make for interesting photos: ""if you survive, take a picture of it".

...along with the more advanced "take the photo and hope you survive" and "this is a truly unique photo and everyone will remember you and your posthumous award"

(then i started thinking about dead journalists, it doesn't sound so funny anymore)

Well, put yourself in his shoes... you've already soiled yourself. You know there's a camera on you, might as well look suave for a brief moment, you've nothing left to lose.

Thats not merely soiling yourself... thats "brown streak across the desert by diarrhea dave and his band of sing-alongs"!

And Jerry not only finds the line but crosses it with a terpsichorean leap!
