Iggy in his natural habitat

This is Ignazio (Iggy) Juana, a regular visitor. There is nothing to judge his size against but he's probably a little over 4 feet from nose to tail.

There were quite a few of these that would either pass through or sun themselves in the yard of where I was staying (Corozal, Belize). It was lots of fun just watching them and the many slow-motion struggles for territory and choice sunning spots.

Despite the fierce look, they are vegetarian and tend to keep their distance.

The young ones are a very vivid green. But they are super skiddish (I guess that's how they wind up big) and tough to get close to.

As they get older, they get that orange tint.
