I'm having trouble finding...

...something like this:

A nice compact camera that is shock resistant, and waterproof (not needed for underwater photography though)

The camera also needs a built in flash and also needs to be fairly good quality with both stills and video(720p is fine). It needs to be compatible with the the Eye-Fi card.

It is preferable if the camera uses disposable batteries but it is not necessary.

I need all this for under $600


Anyone who knows of anything good that fits within these requirements would be a godsend.

I use an Olympus TG-1 (I believe that's the model name.. there may be letters after it?) for work. We're out in the forest, rocky slopes, etc. It holds up well. I've dropped it on rocks, grass, pavement, and even in the Delaware River while canoeing (without the red strap it came with it would have been lost). It's still trucking along.

What will the images be used for? The reason I ask is because the pictures are okay. I wouldn't expect fantastic quality out of it. Worth it for documenting projects and their progress for reports and whatnot. They would be fine for social media and sharing online or on a screen. But, I'm not sure they'd be good for large prints.

Also, this is my second Olympus 'Tough' camera. For my needs, I definitely recommend Olympus. Then again, my needs are smallish pictures to put in reports/share via email and to take family photos that won't be printed larger than 8x10.

Worth it for documenting projects and their progress for reports and whatnot. They would be fine for social media and sharing online or on a screen. But, I'm not sure they'd be good for large prints.

They are going to be used to show the operation of different mechanical parts. I don't exactly know the entirety of what they will be used for but it sounds like they wont be printed past 8 x 10 in size so that camera looks like it'll do the trick.

I can't find anything about the battery, is it proprietary or does it use AA's or something?

Oh, the battery is rechargeable/proprietary. Not AA.

But, if you're worried about charging on the go, the battery is charged in-camera. If you have a USB car charger (12v DC/cigarette lighter), you can simply plug it in while driving to the site.

That'd be nice, but it's probably priced outside of the $600 mark (assuming new). Also, not sure if it's shock resistant?

It's $599 new (no lenses).

Website says it's weather sealed, and has rugged durability.

but IDK if that's just marketing gumpf

Too much with a lens. The reason it needs to be under 600 is because we may buy a lot of them. Its not just for me. Though it'd be nice to go mirrorless I don't think there is a nice durable one within the 600 dollar range, lens included.
