The oof part of the drum (microphone?) is very distracting, especially where it is against the subject. Its where my eyes go everytime I look at this picture.

Not sure what I would do differently except try a different angle or try to clone it out?

I really like this image, partly because of its flaws. The equipment OOF above the drummer’s head,and in front of the girl works for me because it creates a slight obscurationthat emphasizes the impromptu aspect of this shot. Her central positioning reflects herconcentration on the band playing, and her being much closer to the band thanthe audience in the background. Thepeople in the back look relaxed, she is much more intense (look, body posture). The tones place her in the center of theimage, being brighter than the rest, without blowing. There is also a contrast in content in termsof her dress, appearance and body art compared to the much more “comfortableurban” dress of the rest of the people in the image.

I dont find it distracting at all for the composition and message of the picture. She's watching the drummer / band, so it makes sense to be there, as a street photo. I like it just the way it is.

I like this image too, for a number of reasons PGRIZ listed... The OOF microphone doesn't bother me that much.

I like the oof stuff because, among other reasons, she is staring so hard at it that it becomes part of the interaction. It makes the photo a little mysterious but not really too difficult and when I figure out what it is I understand what is going on and then it becomes a necessary piece of the picture.

I think it would bother me less if the stand wasn't right front and center. I do like her face though she looks like she is about to beat anyone up who is going to mess with her boyfriend (aka drummer)!
