Image on viewfinder not focused

I'm sure this sounds like a silly question to all of you, but when I look through the viewfinder on my Rebel XT, the image is really unfocused-- like I have bad reading glasses on. The image comes out fine though, after I take the picture and view it on computer.

Is this normal? I cleared all my settings already. Is this a problem with my camera or is it to be expected?

Read your manual. You can adjust the eyepiece to your eyesight. That's probably the problem..

it might be your viewfinder diopter - check your manual for how to set it correctly. Its the small wheel just above your viewfinder.
