BTW, they are all engaging and for different reasons (as posted), therefore you got the job done...
 
I stayed in this small town for 3 or 4 days. The town's only purpose was to house the few foreigner tourists who stayed overnight and the multitudes of Myanmar people who came to see the Golden Rock.
There were only two hotels that could take foreigners and these places were quite expensive by local standards.
This is clay brick, made locally and not very strong - but neat.
The rooms had cold water showers and primitive toilets
The tile floors were always covered with a layer of red dust stirred up by the trucks that ferried some tourists part way up the mountain.

This is the road up to the Golden Rock, lined with huts selling every conceivable thing for local tourists.

This was the manager of our hotel who had never touched a computer before, although he had seen them on TV and in the possession of tourists.
