I like the idea, but I think it may work better if you don't look directly at the camera.

Maybe a wider shot of you holding the rope in front of your head, standing on a chair with a more indecisive look might work better too?

A little more noise might look better too. Nice idea though.

the softness of the face is bothersome to me. your nostril is just there because the nose blends in so much. is that an airbrush look? or just a soft focus?

and i agree that some noise or possibly some grain might do something.

I'm working on a similar shot with a model - in the planning stages now. I might suggest a thicker tope for realism. I like the idea of this shot but as was said before, the photo is soft - suicide is harsh and rigid.

If by "indecisive" you meant to imply that you're trying to decide whether to cut the noose, or not - it's not coming across in the photo (mostly because of you facial expression, IMO).

You don't look depressed enough to be hanging yourself.

If you want ideas, I have a few...

Going with the indecisive suicide theme - maybe hovering a razor above your wrist, with a few "hesitation cuts"; maybe a gun with a single bullet, trying to decide whether or not to load it; maybe a ****load of pills and a bottle of tequila...

There's a lot of things you could try - I just think the hanging thing isn't working.

The idea is solid, but the prop is lacking. The rope is too thin, when first viewed it looks like your cutting your hair. Use a thick rope and a dead mans knot to add to the feel of the image, also pure B&W would set the image off to a stark tone.

As said above, what a great idea! And I agree with the statements about the rope, needs to be bigger.
I also think that you need a more depressed, contemplative look on your face. The feeling I get from your facial expression is sultry in this photo.

...I don't think the size of the rope matters much for this. (That rope looks strong enough to hold most people.) Plus, if the rope was any bigger, how would she cut it with scissors? I think thin rope (like what's pictured) is probably more realistic - if it were me I'd use paracord (AKA 550 cord - because it can hold 550 lbs.; it's only about 3/16" in diameter)

I think it's all in the facial expressions.
