Infrared Images

I don't see an area for infrared - but it's close to the black & white images. Here's a few... taken with a Sony F717. Just a couple of home made filters and ir block ring and I was gold shooting IR.

this was a multi image stitch putting about 15 images together.

this one is before the set of stadium light were removed from the dumb dumb head. I did leave the bird though.

Awesome photos! I absolutely love the first one! Did you use old 120 slide film for the IR filter?

thanks. I actually use The Sony F717. The camer shoots infrared in nightmode, a infrared ring blocker I made, and then i an orange, red and yellow cutout filters that fit between to polarizers. Quick and easy and the camer still shoots normal images. No conversion required.

the orange, yellow and red filters were cut from cheap color transparency material. I have the infrared filters to use but I found the cheaper stuff I made works best.

i was going to mention the light stand in #2, but then i saw your comment.
that is not a dumb dumb that is a mori, on Easter Island they are very special and sacred.

the flair in the first one is distracting

would like to see the tip of the wing of the dragon , certainly have enough space at the bottom

I agree with this. I like flare, but here it looks artificial (likely due to being the result of 15 flares combined ). Still, #1 is my favourite of the set. Good work.

Awesome, I read that you can take unexposed 120 slide film and have it processed and use it for an IR filter, if I remember correctly. One of these days I'll have to try it out and post the results.

Thanks for the great comments. On the second image I have complete shots with the the entire figure in the photo. It does take away from the image.

The lens flare for me makes the image. Gives an overall erie (sp) feeling to the shot. the glares shapes are also appealing to the eye. Each image is a different piece of the complete shot. No flare in each one.

Infrared is very unique and does require a good bit of post process to bring out the image. But the results are awesome, even on the most basic of shots.
