What's new

infrared.

unfortunately they dont come from the camera looking that way, when using the nightshot setting with the IR filters it comes out with a greenish tint. Post processing is a must.

So do you just have to change the colors to B&W in a photo editor to get rid of the green, or is there more to it than that? I just love the effects you got. I've played with infrared film before, but it's unpredictable and grainy. It's way cool that you're able to get a very similar look with digital technology.

yes.. what i do is in photoshop change it to a monochrome photo, then usually alter the contrast slightly, as well as the levels if it is over or underexposed slightly (it almost always is)...

i have also taken some photos with infrared filters not using the nightshot setting...

they come out red (i wonder why?? hehehe) i usually flip the channels with the blues and end up with something like:

Infrared Fiters :?: do they work with any digital :camera: ? What about c-41 film?

Years ago I shoot some infrared for school, had to send it out state for processing because it was E-4, guess i need to look for the slide

any digital should be able to use them.. BUT without a low light setting, the exposure time is about 9-10 seconds...

nice pics! i love IR but, i have twice loaded the film incorrectly (when i was much more amature than i am today) as it has to be done in complete darkness! grrrr! i'll have to give it another go, now that i have more knowledge about cameras! i love the topics you chose to shoot aswell, where abouts?

they are all along the St. Lawrence seaway right at the US-Canada border (Canadian side)
