Never say die from the friendly fanatics at FPP:
Dunno. This crew caters to a very definite(contrarian?)audience that pays big to shoot Nixon-era cameras and other oddball gear.Hope our customers don't mind paying the hefty price to scan that crap. Currently we charge $10 a strip of 4 frames and yes the scan is uneven if the 4 frames are uneven.
True sir, and it's no time to be penny foolish as my dad would say.FPP services a definite nostalgia niche. Friends buy their stuff. No complaints. Film is pricey for everyone now and scarce locally for many.
Low-fi photography is still a "thing." Nano-trend influencers/celebs shill all sorts of crap. 35mm-120 still work but this stuff shot with feeble p&s gear is a little much. When I was 12 it was one of these that gave me the bug, one of those "open me first" Christmas gifts.
After a few rolls of disappointing shots, I couldn't wait to get a real camera. My older brother brought home a Cannon range finder after his tour in Nam. I never looked back.
Just can't imagine paying these prices for going that far back in time to get really crappy pictures.

Exactly, being retired from work thankfully, I look to photography whether digital or film as my reward. It's not always about getting magazine-cover quality shots. Sometimes it's just about having fun.
