Other nearby buildings have snow covered roofs & no icicles.

I hope he has snow guard on the roof...otherwise it is probably raining inside.

Nice shot. It must be cool in the day and very cold at night??
The sun is not helping this guy.

Pretty typical of older buildings where the attic has been converted into living space. Those buildings need more than insulation. But that's another story and another forum... Good shot Ron, again. I can probably match yours with a collection of mine where the icicles are brown...

I like the deep yellow of the lights and then there is the nice blue sky, I wonder what the icicles would look like really close with your camera at different angles?

The rising heat inside the building is melting the snow along with the rays of the sun. A good thing when it comes to the weight of snow on a structure.

I used to enjoy icicles like ice pops, a bunch of fun to find them and hold them in our mittens.

That would have been interesting to pursue but this was an observation in travel that got my attention enough to stop & take a quick pic.

BTW, it was shot with a Industar-61 LD, 53/2.8 @ f4. Got the lens on eBay for $29, shipping included from Russia.
