Since it can't process raw files, perhaps you would get better results by processing the raw file to have much more detail for it to work with, before handing it off to Gemini. To be honest the file you gave to it doesn't seem to have much detail to work with in the shadows, and jpeg files aren't going to allow it to pull a lot out of that, so I'm not surprised that it struggled.

When I discovered Gemini couldn't work with raw files there was no point in proceeding. Since I had already selected that photo and brought up Gemini I went ahead and gave it that JPEG just for grins. I wouldn't have posted it here except for Gemini's behavior of replacing foreground content with faked content and then telling me it hadn't done that.

By the way, I quite like your processing. I think the file you handed off to Gemini should have been processed to have closer to that level of detail, rather than giving it a very dark jpeg. Just out of curiosity, did you process yours using the raw file, or did you process it using the same file that you gave to Gemini?

I processed the raw file. I have a slightly different version of the image I processed for myself that isn't quite as extreme. The version I posted here was processed for my wife to see as she was interested in the wetland restoration the parks dept. did that shows in the foreground. My version is a little less extreme. I chose the one I processed for my wife to post here so people could see the changes Gemini made to the content.
