Interesting new way to display web-based images!

I just saw this today, for the first time ever.

Apparently, this way of displaying text that moves, over images that stay in one place, is called a "span", with a fixed-attribute background. Whatever it's called, I thought this was an interesting new way to incorporate images into text. This article is about former Nevada coach Chris Ault's "pistol" offense. Ault announced his retirement yesterday.

The article is interesting, but the way these large images are displayed is, to me, fascinating!!

It's quite prevalent all over the web... Like I said, I'm surprised you haven't seen it prior to now. Most people don't see the benefit in responsive and engaging web design, but it's clearly eye catching and conversation starting.

While I like the look of such design it still is flaky on multiple browsers and mobile devices.

I first did something very similar to that when I was having fun writing web page code back in 2003.

It's more often seen with an image that comprises the entire background, rather than a white background that has a few images embedded in it.
