iPhoto and Aperture Ending Soon

With the discontinuation of Aperture and iPhoto this fall, I think I might have to switch to PhotoShop and LightRoom. Two major questions come to mind:
Will LightRoom do face recognition like iPhoto and Aperture?

Do transition software programs exist to take existing images with all metadata, cataloging, and edits transitioned as well?
