I've been revamping my metadata lately, and so I was wondering, what do you folks put, (if anything) in the IPTC Copyright Info Url field? From what I can tell from Google, there's not much of a consensus, some photographers just list their website, others a link to a contact form, and still others a link to a dedicated copyright/usage statement.

What do you use and why?

(For the record, yes, I'm aware copyright is assigned automatically and that filling out the metadata doesn't actually inherently prevent photo theft.)

The IPTC is a standard for the news media, so I suspect those services would make use of it more than the average person. As for me, I will add my name, copyright status and the year, and city/state in the contacts if I think about it. The other IPTC fields generally don't apply to me or my photos.

    Fair enough, appreciate the perspective.
