In 2011 we spent 8 days in Dublin and what is being said: the Irish are really the nicest people on this planet!
Dublin is actually very quiet and relaxed, without huge apartment buildings but with some fine city parks.
We did eat a number of times in the pub, the bar owner comes to sit at your table to take the order and it all tasted pretty good. Just try a Irish breakfast and also fish & chips, because for me this really tasted better in Dublin than in the UK. In many smaller estaurants you have a dinner rate at the end of the afternoon which is lower than the same dinner in the evenings.
There are quite a number of things to see and to photograph in Dublin, but don't imagine it too big, because you will be disappointed. I think that it will be a lot of enjoyment and here and there take some pictures, so the tourist way. What you absolutely must do is the
Viking Splash Tours:

Of course it will be different for everyone, but 8 days hanging around in Dublin was more than enough for us and I think that 5 days could also be enough, because what's nice, many sights are at very short (walking) distance from each other. The main attractions every tourist will visit:
Grafton Street
Guinness Storehouse
St. Patrick's and Christ church
Trinity College
Dublin Castle
entertainment district Temple-Bar
Have a lot of fun and good weather!
