All good here. We lost power last night around 11 and just got it back tonight around 7.
Better then the two week we were out with last years ice storm.

No damage other then a bunch of leaves.

Rick, good to hear you guys made it through the craziness. I'm waiting to hear if I have to go to work tomorrow....=)

Yeah, I noticed that one. I was thinking that besides my wife, if it was going to be the end of the world, you two would good companions and maybe even get it to hold off, just because of your irreverence and exhuberance. So I'd definitely want you on my island. That and your collection of music. So maybe we won't have a player, but I'm sure you guys could hum the tunes.

Please dont compare the serious of the situation and appreciate or show concern for each individually. The situation in certain areas of NYC and NJ is pretty serious. There was a 6 alarm fire that took entire blocks and flooding that left many families homeless.... And there has been loss of life... And unfinished tragedies still playing through. That is all that matters.

I was hit by the eastern side... The windy side. Lost power and trees down. damage is minimal fortunately. The entire area is without power and made my rounds at first light to find any grocery store that was open to stock up. Fireplace is going and using the grill to prep food. All in all the town faired pretty well since they prepared for the worst. Emptied lakes and resovours kept the drainage so flooding was minimal... We were hit badly with Irene and still recovering. As such the town seems in good spirits as we were not in the news which is a good thing. For me and my family... We are fortunate that the main things that are occupying our minds is the thought of cold showers and boredom we face he next day.

Point pleasant, nj was probably not the intention of he news media and not sone coincedence manipulated by the media. Along wih seaside heights, they are some of he most popular shore destinations for northern nj and nyc residents. Along with Atlantic city further south and Cape May at the southern tip of Nj they took the brunt of the damage from the high water. I heard rumors that the aquarium in point pleasant and one in NyC Has already loss some creatures. So sad.

^^ agree, they're two different storms entirely with very different situations. While certainly the shear devastation is nowhere on par with Katrina for many reasons that go beyond geography this was a MAJOR storm. Much of the most-impacted areas of New Orleans was, after all, essentially a second-world city.

One thing I am finding interesting about this storm is that the bad news seems to be sort of trickling in, and each moment that passes, the news just keeps getting worse.

We are doing okay in the Mid Hudson valley of NY. We lost power for a few days. Thankfully we did not see much rain, but the wind was terrible. With all the down trees and wires, it took me an extra 45mins to get to work the next day. I'm glad to hear everyone else is doing okay.
