Is it broken already?! :(

I just received my Sigma 17-50 mm 2.8 for canon and this weird vignetting keeps happening. Am I doing something wrong? It's broken isn't it? I'm so sad/mad/frustrated.
Sorry for the gray frame. This is just a picture of my white wall, the problem is the black area in the corners.

can you take a picture of something else? that doesn't have a frame around it and isn't a white wall? just so we can compare?

I have that lens for Nikon and have never had any problems out of it.

Is the lens hood on correctly? Could you take one without the hood? Which camera,by the way?

Did it come with a lens hood ? is it fitted correct, Hellen and Switch beat me to it

Omg you guys just made my day while proving me to be a dummy. I do have a lens hood which came with it and it must have been loose and twisted a little. When I received all your responses I twisted the lens hood and it comes into the field of view...just like the pic I uploaded!! When I screwed it on correctly, no stupid vignetting! Now I should talk about something intelligent to prove I'm not really THIS *dumb*. Thank you everyone!

You were my first thought when I thought it was broken after you wrote that sigmas are junk and break on my last thread!
