Sigma not working on D7100

Hi all,

This Friday i received my used Sigma 150-500, when i first screwed it on my D7100 I was all that I finally for my first telephoto. But, my happiness was short lived because I noticed that the AF-C and focus area symbols were flickering on the top screen and the lens wasn’t focusing at all.

I’ve been searching and some suggestions are cleaning the lens contacts and/or firmware update (if even possible).

My camera has the latest firmware update, if i go back will it work?

Honestly i can already see that i’ll have to send it back after waiting for so long to get a lens like this.

I have another Sigma (17-50) OS version and it works, also my Nikkor 16-85.

Have you ever came across something like this?

I originally bought the same lens for Canon and had no luck getting it to work.
The Camera shop also has no luck. There were no firmware updates in 2014 but there may have been an update since then.

I just clean the lens and camera connectors to no avail. Tomorrow i’ll contact the vendor.

Correct. Neither the camera shop or I could make the auto focus work.
