Is it "in" to de-contrast photos?

I think you mean low contrast.

I'm not sure about the low contrast....but it sure seems to be "in" to over saturate them!!!!!...lol

here's a random one I found on tumblr. There's thousands of low contrast photos like these that everyone seems to love. what are your thoughts on low contrast photos?

In my opinion, it's never "in" for a certain technique, everyone is different. How you process the photo is how you want the photo to feel I guess. I do it on some photos to give them more of an eerie or emotional look. But then again other photos look better well contrasted. I think it's just all up to what you think makes the photo look it's best.

Go to a bar with fluorescent lighting that's muted, with some neon signs on the walls, and get wasted. Then look at your bottlecap.

This reminds me of that "feel", so it's kind of a good job in a way.

Don't listen to these people.

It's definitely trendy right now.

Just look at all the photography apps for the iPhone.. they all make your photos look like that an they're all some of the highest grossing apps in the store.

That means it's "in," by most definitions.

Don't listen to us people? I for one had no clue there was such Apps as I do not have access to an Iphone. So IMO they are not trendy because I do not seem them everywhere. LOL But hey, that's cool they have those.

What is it anyway? Is it an in-phone photo editor? Didn't realize they even had stuff like that. That's pretty awesome though if it is.
