but it seems i time out when viewing this site. when i go to make a post i have to log back in again, even if i have the "remember me" box checked. I post on other vbulletin forums (i run a couple myself) and i dont time out on those but havent seen a setting for it in options here. Im using firefox by the way.

is it set this way or is it me? at work i use seamonkey browser and it doesnt time out

have you tried clearing your cookies?
I can't say this has ever happened to me on this site - happened once or twice with some others over time, but things cleared up quickley (not sure if admin did anything in either case though)

I don't know...I use Firefox, and it doesn't do that to me!

fYI.....i installed the recommended cookie add ons for firefox and added the forum to a list of websites to always allow cookies and now it doesnt log me off.
