Is the chromatic aberration that bad on the 35mm 1.8g?

Cant say ive noticed much if any on mine, great lens

:)

I thought it was a bit much for my tastes.
It can often (but not always) be corrected in post.

For what it's worth, most fast prime lenses suffer from this when wide open - some worse than others.
I have the Nikon 85mm f/1.4D, Sigma 50mm f/1.4, and Sigma 30mm f/1.4 that also have purple and green fringing from CA wide open to some degree (clears up by f/2).
The difference is that these lenses also have pleasing bokeh as the trade off, whereas the 35mm f/1.8 DX bokeh is rather nervous and crappy IMHO.

Also, the 50 f/1.8G is much better than the 35mm f/1.8G DX in terms of CA and bokeh.
I have owned and used all these lenses on a D90.

It was bad enough I sold mine, and I was less than impressed with the lens overall.

Be aware, it is an inexpensive, consumer grade lens intended to be an OK, but not great lens.
