Is There a Way to Fix Blurred Spots?

This is my first time posting here so I wasn't sure which forum to put this question in.

I am an amateur Thai boxer and somebody snapped a picture of me at the gym while I was sparring and I'd like to use this photograph. Most of the picture is perfectly fine, but by hands must have been in motion when the photo was snapped because the gloves are all blurry. I've tried downloading a few software programs like Blurity, Smart Deblur, and Focus Magic, but those application seem to want to deblur the entire photograph, rather than just the one section that is blurred, and they end up ruining the whole picture. I only need the one small section where my hands are to be deblurred, not the entire thing. Is there a program out there than can do this or am I just out of luck?

Any advice is appreciated.

Basically blur is something you can't fix.

Sharpening programs for removing blur are often focusing on removing handshake blur, which is why they want to work on the whole photo itself.

The only way to remove blur is to basically reconstruct the area that is blurry, now sometimes you can just get away with this if another area in the shot has the same content sharp and you just clone one area onto the other. For something like the gloves though the only way to get that back is going to be rebuilding the area from scratch (most likely). At which point you're looking at big amounts of time, skill and (likely) money to afford having someone do it.

Let s have a look at the shot though (linked because you can't embed images that are not your own on this site) it might be that the blur is not distracting (sometimes motion blur on things like boxing gloves adds to the shot)

It can probably be fixed. The question is how difficult it is to fix, and that depends on the image.

De-blur software may not be the best way to deal with it, depending on the image. Reconstruction may be necessary, and that may or may not be difficult, again depending on the image. Are there any images available where the gloves are not blurred that could be used to replace them in the shot you like? That's one way that can sometimes work pretty well.

Link to the image so we can see it, and maybe it can be dealt with effectively.

an idea .. I do not know if it would work correctly.
maybe crop just the hands part, then let the deblur software do just the crop
Then use photoshop or something to overlay the unblurred image over the entire photo.

The thing is if the software is more geared for removing handshake blur then its going to be likely looking for a side to side/up and down type of motion blur and then working with that. If its a fist moving in a glove type of blur chances are the blur is in all one direction so the software might get confused.

I'd first try to get another picture with the gloves nice and sharp and copy them onto the photo in question with Photoshop. As others have said you can't fix it, just replace or rebuild. Sometimes you can make the edges sharp with some careful cloning and then do a bit of artistic painting...
