Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I apologize if this is in the wrong section but I am a beginner and not charging so I don't feel like I should be posting in the professional areas.

So this little girl had missed her nap that afternoon and was very much not happy to be there. This was the best smile I could get out of her (and this is with bubbles going and her parents dancing around, it was quite the circus LOL). But obviously with all the moving around I missed the focus. I think I've just been looking at it too long so I need some more experienced eyes to tell me... is the soft look here somewhat acceptable because she's a small child and they're supposed to be soft. Or is it just a flat out miss and needs to be tossed to the recycle bin?

Here's my quick run through Lightroom. . . .

Not that good :(

I don't think that is bad... especially the one through lightroom. 1 photo in a shoot is not the best but it still looks pretty good.

the 2nd version is way over editted.

I can't focus on it because the eyes are not in focus. I would retry the shot.

The lighting is very flat, in that there are no shadows to give the facial mask a sense of depth.

A re-shoot would be worthwhile, rather than trying to "salvage" the photo.

Thank you everyone. I do have other pics of her that did turn out well. She's just not really smiling in any of them. I thought her expression in this one was the best. I'm sure her parents will love any of them. I just didn't want to include this one if it really wasn't working.

You can make a no-smile into a smile using Photoshop. Post a no-smile photo, and I'll show you how.

Can't wait for her to post a no-smile photo - I want to know how to do that!

Well my curiosity is certainly piqued! :) I did try a little on this one using free transform. And I imagine liquify could be used. But I just ended up making her look like the joker so I went back to the original.

Hey, did you shoot this in RAW format? or JPEG? either way, if you want, you can PM me a link to the original and I can try to fix it up. I tried with the small image you've posted, but I really would prefer a larger size if possible. :)
