if i have a picture and it was shot at 800-1000 iso and i wanted to print it at say a 16x20 do you think the iso will show really bad? assumed that i processed it as much as i could in ps acr?

The ISO won't show but it may or may not be real grainy :D

Its depends on the camera's ISO performance. Depending on how good it is it may make the picture unusable or you may not notice it.

i am using a nikon d90 and it handles noise ok.

One of the best-ever questions I've seen here on TPF! Is the image noisy? Is the image "speckled" pretty badly? Was the exposure skimpy, and dark, or was the exposure generous and bright? If the exposure was generous, and the lighting was not abysmally poor, chances are that the image will go to 16x20 and look "decent" with careful preparation for printing.

the exposure was nice and bright i overexposed my shots by about 1/3 of a stop. i would say that the image is speckled a fair amount.

@ ryan l.. funny... your right pics would probably help.... but i was asking about print quality and iso on a more general basis
