issue with kodak easyshare C143...

I have bought kodak easyshare c143. For the first week it worked very fine. my mom really loved it, it have awesome features etc
But then suddenly it stopped working,like you can't take picture without the screen blacking out and the camera refuse to turn off. When I am putting a new battery the camera shows it only have a quarter left and I just went to the store and got a new one.
I didn't have warranty or anything so I cant do nothing about it.

Problem is that I really like the kodak because its features are awesome .do anyone know how to fix it?
