I like your idea behind these photos; it's just that I know shooting into the sun is really hard to meter against. The brightness/contrast of these photos needs some attention in my opinion due to a slight haze on the images.
Was your second photo edited?

I like the idea myself, & I also agree that it's not easy to shoot into the sun.
Both of these pictures were edited: warming filter in the first; some burning in the second; curves adjustment in both...

i think the first would be better with the sun behind the people, get a lower angle looking up. the hand freaks me out a bit :S

I know, I don't like that hand there either ! And I agree about the sun being too high. It was very difficult to see what they were doing, to be honest. I told'em to keep touching with their noses... Well, at least they (my good friend & her hubby) were happy with the results .
