They were friendly horses, and curious ones, too, so after a while they inched closer and closer to the fence, two of them (the one with the "beard" and the skittish young mare - not even quite grown up - on the very left in Photos 1 and 3) even had to sniffle out my hand AND the camera lens, and after that they were happy and returned to the others.
