Seems to me we haven't had a music thread in a while and since I was talking music with a friend earlier...

I'll start with the band we were talking about, Pavlov's Dog. One of those wonderful bands that never got what they deserved.

Here's another one that should have made more waves:

Do you remember those guys? Probably not if you are not my age :)

Ok, your turn.

And if erose is around, post something from the band you shot :)

Nice thread! my offerings may be a bit "off the wall"/cosmic/03.00 AM for some but i'll chip in at some point! Are we purely rockin or can we also be floatin, funkin, skankin etc

We rock, float, funk, whatever we want to do :)

Maybe I'll even put up the Vacuum Concerto if I can find it :lmao:

Well, we're having a party here and I thought we would let TPF members choose our music and, altitude, you're a big success  We turned you on (the first one) and just about everybody got up to dance. Grandpa in his wheelchair didn't. Quite a sight :)

We may have to wait on the second one though. Let everyone recover since we're a bunch of older folks here :lmao:

Sorry but you'll have to scoop out the links.

Not the one I have but it will give you an idea. In mine, the vacuums actually run a lot more :)

Now I'm going to listen to what you posted. Mute Math is a new one to me.

In this context - "scoop out" = cut/paste each http:// link into your address bar.

Dallmeyer: That was what I thought but it didn't work...

Erose: Oops, I don't listen to cover bands. But I'm glad you like the Vacuum music lol.

There's a lot of weird stuff like that around. When I was seriously collecting vinyl I had a few record stores collecting all kinds of stuff for me and this kind of sh*t was part of it. It was very cheap too because nobody else wanted it LOL. I've always like people who make music out of non-music things like vacuums. Or Tom Waits and his 2x4s. Or those guys and their plumbing supply store. Their shows are wonderful events.

That second one is a cover but they definitely make it their own.

Now, for something different, this is a band I toured with... by accident. I was photographing another band on the tour but it turned into an amazing experience. This band was run like the military :( while all the other ones on the tour were partying like crazy. It was so fooking weird. But I love their music. One of the few french bands from the 70s still working today. And no, they don't sing in french... it is a made up language because they didn't want to sing in english but they also didn't want to sing in french which is very limiting, audience wise.

Man, this place ain't rocking no more :(

We know were Josh is gone to but where is Craig? We'd get some nice music threads going once upon a time. Lol

The times they are a-changing...

Anyway...

All time #1 favorite band...

The Mars Volta

You seem to have darn good taste in music. I also love The Mars Volta, have you seen them live before? Incredible.

These guys are one of my top 5 as well.

The Black Keys

And my favorite from The Mars Volta

And one from Them Crooked Vultures, the latest supergroup. Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal), and the one and only, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin).

Same here. Post some more. Even if it's just for me, lol.

I don't listen to the radio as most stations only play the same old, same old although Universities stations sometimes have the most wonderful stuff. The problem with most of them is that their coverage is fairly limited.

My daughter introduced us to this next band and we build a party around that song that is still being talked about... Damn, we were wild once :)

Another band that made it into this party and that we were also introduced to by my daughter is Consolidated.
